Come to the Table
Event

You are cordially invited to join us at our COME TO THE TABLE event for an evening of great food, basket drawings, and a live auction of one-of-a-kind tablescapes created by local artists and designers.

This exciting event raises funds to support a variety of programs and critical interventions at Empowered Pathways.

WHEN:      June 17  from  5:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.

WHERE:   Hart's Hill Inn, 135 Clinton St, Whitesboro, NY

Here are a few of the many ways Empowered Pathways helps our community:

  • Women’s Employment & Resource Center
The Women’s Employment & Resource Center (WERC) has been helping women reenter the workforce for over 30 years. When a woman seeks assistance through WERC, they are no longer alone. We become their coach, helping them navigate and eliminate obstacles. We are their cheerleaders, rooting them on as they successfully chart a course from modest goals to big dreams. WERC offers a variety of job training programs, job placement assistance, and on-going career coaching. Thousands of women across the Mohawk Valley began their career at WERC.

  • Surrogate Decision-Making Committee
The Surrogate Decision-Making Committee (SDMC) program is an alternative to the court system and is authorized to provide consent for non-emergency major medical treatment and end-of-life care decisions for people who qualify. Funded by the New York State Justice Center, the SDMC Program helps make medical decisions for people with disabilities that are unable to make these decisions for themselves. Without the SDMC Program, individuals would have to wait months for the Surrogate’s Court to make decisions about routine medical procedures.

  • Community Dispute Resolution Center
The highly trained staff and volunteers at Empowered Pathways offer a variety of dispute resolution services aimed at achieving self-directed and peaceful resolutions to conflicts and disputes. Mediation allows people an opportunity to speak and be heard, while a mediator or “neutral” manages the conversation. Our professional mediators are trained and certified in accordance with standards set by the New York State Unified Court System, and their services offer real and lasting solutions. These services are free or low-cost.

  • Youth Services
Attendance Mediation: Focuses on helping schools, students, and families increase student attendance and improve educational outcomes. Students, parents, administrators, and teachers sit down with a neutral and build a plan for getting the youth to school, including whatever supports or referrals are required.
Parent-Teen & PINS Mediation: Intended to allow parents and teens to build a plan for their daily lives together. For parents struggling with raising teens, mediation can help bridge the gaps and build a workable plan for the household.
